The local museum is housed in one of Norsjö's oldest residences and is home to many interesting artifacts, exhibitions and comprises of other cultural heritage buildings dating back to the middle of the 1800s. The museum has become a popular cultural centre enabling visitors to learn more about the past from varying perspectives.
Nordic skiers from the Norsjö area have played an important part in the development of Nordic skiing as a national sport in Sweden and their story is told in the skiing exhibition. The first two winners of the world's largest Nordic skiing race, the Vasaloppet, came from Norsjö. The 1871 farmstead has a range of collections, including one of pictures and newspaper articles from local journalists and photographers. The rooms on the upper floor are decorated in the style of long ago while a hunting section features local wildlife and sets out the importance of hunting. Visitors can see examples of old traps as well as a moving models of a bear, wolf and wolverine. There is also collection of traditional tools in the former organ workshop used by P O Finnberg who used to be the local organ builder. Coffee and refreshments can be enjoyed in the café, which has paintings by local artists on its walls or, weather permitting, outside amid the pleasant surroundings of the museum.
