If you want to travel to the region by air, then flying to Skellefteå Airport, 15 km south-west of the town, is the perfect place to start, thanks due to its proximity to coastal areas. The journey into the town centre takes 20-25 minutes; choose between the bus transfer, taxi or car rental. For those arriving by car, there are short stay and long stay car parks. The airport is constantly being developed and new floors, lighting and information systems are being installed to improve passenger service. Focusing on its northern surroundings and, with local help, the aim is to continue developing Skellefteå Airport into one of Sweden’s most interesting airports.

Lycksele Airport is just 5km from the centre of Lycksele and is an excellent alternative for your arrival if you plan to visit more inland destinations. Nexjet operates flights to and from Stockholm/Arlanda and the journey time is around 70 minutes. There are two-three regular departures every weekday and two on Sundays. You will feel welcome instantly upon on arriving at the airport which is tastefully designed with a northern countryside theme. There is free parking, monitored by surveillance cameras. Taxis and car rental are also available but hire cars must be booked in advance.
