All bookings are followed up with a booking confirmation which will be sent by e-mail. This is generated by the booking system and will contain the details of your reservation and a booking number. This number is unique and it is important that you save it.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Please note: this translation is not an official, legally binding document. In the event of a legal dispute, the original Swedish version will be relied upon.
These general terms and conditions govern the transactions between Gold of Lapland Economic Association (GOLEF) and you the purchaser or a third person according to a contract which is stipulated in the confirmation. The contract may cover accommodation, travel, activities, the purchase of other products or a combination of any or all of these.
Who is responsible?
Online booking is the responsibility of Gold of Lapland Economic Association, Nygatan 32, 935 31, Norsjö, Tel +46 (0)918-331 10, Corporate ID: 769614-4976. Specific terms and conditions may apply for travel using regular transport services. The recipient of your booking is obliged to inform you of these terms and any notable changes that may arise with your booking. They are also required to provide you with the necessary travel documents.
If your booking is placed with a authorised seller, it is the seller’s responsibility to make sure that the customer follows the terms and conditions set out by the operator whose services have been booked.
When does my booking become a binding document?
The booking becomes a binding document for you, GOLEF and GOLEF’s suppliers immediately it is confirmed by GOLEF.
What, when and to whom is payment made?
You are required to pay the publicised price. The price may increase or decrease depending on any changes in taxes or transport costs that occur after the booking has been made. The date by which payment should be made, and to whom, are covered by Specific Terms and Conditions. Cancellation fees are governed by Specific Terms and Conditions.
What if I want to cancel my booking?
It is possible to cancel your booking with GOLEF in written form or by speaking with a member of staff. GOLEF info@goldoflapland.com, tel +46 (0)918-331 10. When booking a combination of events and activities which make up a package, it is not possible to cancel individual parts of the event. Cancellation is only valid when you have received confirmation from GOLEF. If other cancellation terms or fees are in order, these are to be found in Specific Terms and Conditions.
What if I want to change something?
If there is a possibility to make changes to the booking, any fees charged are covered by the Specific Terms and Conditions.
What if something happens to me?
You are able to take out cancellation insurance which will protect you from paying cancellation fees. Insurance fees are covered by Specific Terms and Conditions. The cancellation insurance policy will allow you to cancel up to 24 hours before the date of your arrival and makes sure that you are only liable for an administrative fee which is 5% of the price but no higher than SEK 150. This is only valid if the reason for cancellation is due to one of the following:
a. Death, serious illness or accident that has afflicted you, your spouse/partner, your or their parents, children, siblings or another travel companion.
b. Draft into the National Service.
c. The occurrence of a serious event which is outside of your control, i.e. a major fire or flooding in your home. You must be able to prove your reason for your cancellation. A statement from your doctor, authority or insurance company will suffice. Statements that arrive later than seven days after the date of cancellation will not be considered. The cancellation fee, booking fee and any other fees charged for previously made changes will not be refunded.
What happens if I and the operator are not in agreement?
Please contact us if you do have any complaints. If an agreement cannot be reached then you should seek assistance from the National Board for Consumer Disputes. The organisation will supply representatives for both the consumer and operator as well as an unbiased chairperson. The address is: Box 174, 101 23 Stockholm.
What liabilities do I have?
• You are responsible for checking the booking confirmation yourself as soon as you receive it. Any errors must be reported immediately. Any undertakings by the booking staff which are of significance to you must be noted in the travel documents if they are to be valid.
• You must follow the rules and regulations governing the use of cabins and flats or mode of transport etc. You are liable for any damages you or a member of your party have incurred due to negligence. You may not use the rented object for any purpose other than what is agreed upon when making the booking (normally leisure activities). You are not allowed to permit persons not included in the booking to stay in the rented accommodation or on the rented premises. All participants must be named at the time of booking.
• If the landlord receives complaints about disruptive behaviour, the landlord has the right to evict the tenant with immediate effect if that tenant does not immediately comply with the rules and regulations following a reprimand. The same conditions apply if too many people occupy the premises. No compensation for the remaining rented period will be paid if tenants are evicted and you, the guest, are liable for any extra costs incurred by your actions.
• If you have any complaints about your stay, or the premises, you should contact the landlord to see if any problems can be solved during your visit.
• When making your booking, you must inform us about any allergies which could have a bearing on what we can offer you.
• NB. It will be stated in the general description that pets or smoking are not permitted. We cannot, however, guarantee that the building has not housed pets or been affected by smoking in the period before your booking.
• When reserving a cabin which does not have a cleaning service, you must clean it before you leave unless you have arranged otherwise with the owner. If the premises have not been cleaned you will be charged a SEK1,000 cleaning fee.
• We reserve the right to make changes that are a result of alterations in the law and price changes over which we have no control.
The Personal Data Act - PuL
When making your payment you are permitting GOLEF to gather and store your personal information in accordance with PuL. The purpose of this to be able to maintain normal administration practices and comply with the terms required for the cancellation insurance policy. The data may also be used to spread information about travel related offers. You might even be contacted to participate in market research carried out by one of GOLEF’s suppliers.
SPECIFIC TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Main operator and package operator: Gold of Lapland Economic Association
Minimum booking age
In order to make a booking with GOLEF you must be at least 18 years of age. When booking accommodation for groups, at least one person must be over the age of 18, unless it is stipulated in the accommodation information that an even older person is required to be present. Proof of age and identification must be provided on arrival. Fulfilling the age requirement is a prerequisite for obtaining access.
Payment
When booking online, only credit card payments are accepted. The fee must be paid in full.
Cancellation insurance
Cancellation insurance can only purchased when making a booking. The insurance policy covers only those named in the booking and cancellation due to illness is only valid when accompanied by a doctor’s statement. If the customer decides to use the cancellation insurance, the cancellation is binding for all others named in the booking. No part-payments will be made, even if some of the group decide to continue with the trip.
SEK 325 per booking.
Cancellation costs
(If no cancellation insurance has been taken out or is invalid)
The customer must pay 5% of the total fee if the trip is canceled more than 30 days before it is due to start.
The customer must pay 15% of the total fee if the trip is canceled less than 30 days but more than 14 days before it is due to start.
The customer must pay 50% of the total fee if the trip is canceled less than 14 days but more than 24 hours before it is due to start.
The customer must pay the whole fee if the trip is canceled less than 24 hours before it is due to start.
Cancellation fees and other administrative fees are non-refundable.
Alteration fees
SEK150 per booking and alteration. Additional fees might be charged for changes made to travel tickets.
Terms for transferral
Transferral of accommodation and other activities may be made before the trip is due to start. If permitted by regulations governing travel companies, any transport transferral, such as flight tickets, must be reported to the travel companies clearing stating who is the beneficiary. This might result in additional alteration fees.
Invoice fees
We charge an invoice fee of SEK 50. Payment by invoice can only be approved when making a booking with Gold of Lapland during office hours.
Force Majeure
Any delay or failure in the performance by either Party shall be excused if caused by the occurrence of a Force Majeure. For purposes of this Agreement, Force Majeure shall mean a cause or event that is not reasonably foreseeable or otherwise caused by or under the control of the Party claiming Force Majeure. This clause also extends to cover the performance failure of a supplier to the operator due to Force Majuere.
We reserve the right to make changes that are a result of alterations in the law and price changes over which we have no control.
FLIGHTS AND PACKAGE TOURS
Terms of payment
When booking, you will be required to enter your credit card number so that payment can be made. We will email your booking confirmation once payment has been received. All prices are given in SEK and all payments should be made in SEK. Full payment at the time of booking is required by Gold of Lapland due to the fact that we use regular flight connections. The booking is binding once payment has been made.
Booking online
When booking online, payment in full must be made using a credit card.
Read through and check the confirmation
After making your booking you will receive confirmation by e-mail. It is the your responsibility to read the confirmation and check that all the information (names, dates, destination etc) is correct. Please note that when booking flight tickets you will be given a separate booking number for the flight. Cancellations and changes in bookings
Changing a travel booking is classified as both a cancellation of the original booking and a new booking. Travel documents are individual and can only be transferred to another person if permitted by the airline and once any additional fees have been paid. To provide our customers with competitive prices we usually take advantage of special rates. These normally have strict regulations concerning cancellations and booked flight tickets are not refundable. Unless given elsewhere, regulations concerning cancellations of paid and confirmed package trips are found in Gold of Lapland’s Special Terms and Conditions.

Refunds - terms and conditions
You will be refunded if you, your next of kin or your travel companions are unable to travel due to sudden illness, accident or death. Those classified as next of kin include your spouse, partner, children, grandchildren, siblings, parents, grandparents, parents-in-law. Sudden illness is defined as an illness of which you were unaware when the booking was made.
A doctor’s statement clearly stating that the trip cannot continue due to the particular illness is required and must be signed and stamped and delivered to us within seven days.
All tickets and other travel documents are to be returned within seven days of the cancellation together with the doctor’s statement. Send to Gold of Lapland, Nygatan 32, 935 31 Norsjö. Refunds are made to the same credit card which paid for the trip.
Baggage
For detailed information about baggage regulations please contact your airline. Fees charged by the airlines may change without notice from Gold of Lapland. Any damage or loss of baggage should be directly reported to the airline responsible at the airport. Each airline follows its own rules and regulations concerning damage and loss of baggage.
Child discounts
Discounts for children vary greatly between the various airlines and hotels. Please read the terms and conditions which apply at the time of booking.
Timetable
We cannot be held responsible for any changes in timetables or changes instigated by the airlines which are out of our control. When we are alerted to the fact that changes have been made, we will inform you immediately by email or telephone. It is therefore important that we have correct contact information.
